Ed Sykes/Getty ImagesAug. 8, 2026 Updated 4:32 am EDTLewis Hall has left Newcastle United’s Spanish training camp early and returned to Tyneside to train separately as he manages a minor injury.Hall has attracted interest from Manchester United this window, but Newcastle are adamant the 21-year-old left-back is not for sale and will be a key part of the plans of new head coach Matthias Jaissle.Sources with knowledge of the matter said Hall flew back from La Manga, where Newcastle have been training at a week-long camp, on Friday, along with Fabian Schar and Lewis Miley, who will also miss Saturday evening’s friendly against Valencia in Spain, Jaissle’s first game in charge.The trio are continuing fitness work at The Knox, Newcastle’s training centre, according to the club. Hall is set to train on Tyneside on Sunday and may return for Wednesday’s friendly against Everton at Murrayfield, in Edinburgh, or for one of the two practice matches at St James’ Park next weekend.With Dan Burn yet to join up with the main squad following his exploits at the World Cup with England, though he is back at the training ground in Newcastle, Jaissle has limited full-back options to start with in Valencia.Tino Livramento is still making his way back from a series of injuries and there are no other senior full-backs within the squad. It is a priority position for Newcastle to strengthen but, of the five signings so far this summer, none have been wide defenders.Leo Shahar, the 19-year-old right-back, and Alex Murphy, the 22-year-old defender, may start, while Jacob Murphy could provide cover, too.
