Springbok Women's flyhalf Libbie Janse van Rensburg will captain the team in Saturday's Test against Fijiana XV in Suva on.
Libbie Janse van Rensburg will captain a much-changed Springbok Women side determined to match Fiji's trademark physicality when the teams meet in Saturday's historic first Test on Fijian soil.
The experienced flyhalf, who becomes just the 12th player to captain the Springbok Women since their first Test in 2004, is the only backline player retained in the starting XV from last month's second Test against the USA, while only forwards Vainah Ubisi and Sizophila Solontsi keep their places.
Although the starting line-up has been extensively reshaped, 13 members of the matchday 23 that featured in Pretoria remain involved as the coaching staff continue to build squad depth ahead of the 2028 Women's Rugby World Cup.
There is a first Test cap for centre Shiniqwa Lamprecht, while fellow Springbok Women's Sevens stars Patience Mokone and Zintle Mpupha are rewarded with their first starts of the year after rejoining the fifteens set-up.
