The Western Cape Government has officially reopened the Paarl Hospital Outpatient Department (OPD) following major restorations after a devastating fire.

Earlier this year on January 27, a fire broke out that required the evacuation of around 750 people, including patients, visitors, and staff.

In addition to causing serious structural damage to the Outpatient Department (OPD), the incident resulted in smoke damage that reached up to the hospital's third floor.

Despite the disruption, Paarl Hospital remained functional, with only minor service delivery disruption, mainly contained to outpatient services, ensuring that patients continued to receive care.
