Nifty 50 began today’s session with a gap-up at 24,669 versus yesterday’s close of 24,615. The index is now trading at 24,600.The advance/decline ratio stands at 24/26. L&T, up 1.5 per cent, is the top gainer followed by InterGlobe Aviation, up 1.3 per cent. On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals, down 2.1 per cent, and Sun Pharma, down 1.3 per cent, are the top losers.Among the sectors, Nifty Realty, up 2.3 per cent, is the top performer whereas Nifty Healthcare, down 0.8 per cent, is the top loser. It is now hovering around 24,670, up 0.5 per cent.Today’s gap-up open means the contract has rebounded well on the back of the support at 24,500. So long as it stays above 24,600, the intraday trend will remain bullish. From the current level, Nifty futures can rise to 24,800. A breakout of this can lift it to 25,000. However, if the contract declines from the current level of 24,670 and slips below 24,600, it might extend the downswing to 24,500.
