Amid an ongoing wave of commercial closures and enforcement actions against cultural centers in Iran, at least three cultural and commercial establishments in Babol, Mashhad, and Tehran have been sealed in recent days by order of judicial authorities or supervisory bodies.
HRANA reported that the “Book City” (Shahr-e Ketab) branch in Babol was sealed following a judicial order carried out by the Public Places Supervision Office.
At the same time, reports indicate the closure of “Sekanj Architecture Cafe” in Mashhad, a specialized cultural venue that served as a gathering space for architects, artists, and students. No specific reason for the cafe’s closure has been released to date.
Additionally, the “Arghavan House” center announced that it had temporarily suspended its operations until the restrictions were lifted due to a “temporary closure by relevant authorities.” The establishment operated on Fereshteh Street in Tehran.
These actions coincide with a renewed crackdown by judicial, law enforcement, and security entities on cafes, bookstores, businesses, and social media accounts.
