Two suspects linked to a series of armed house robberies in Motherwell have been arrested following a breakthrough investigation by the Motherwell Cluster Trio Task Team.
A swift police investigation has led to the arrest of two suspects allegedly linked to two armed house robberies committed in Motherwell, Eastern Cape, within four days, while authorities continue searching for additional suspects believed to be involved.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the first robbery occurred on 31 July 2026 at a home in Mgwenyana Street, NU6, Motherwell.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said four armed men wearing surgical masks and balaclavas allegedly forced their way into the house after the complainant opened the front door.
The suspects reportedly threatened the complainant and her daughter with firearms before stealing an Apple iPhone SE valued at about R3,500. No injuries were reported during the incident.
