The National Prosecuting Authority’s Asset Forfeiture Unit has secured a High Court order for the recovery of R287 750, plus interest, after funds allegedly linked to a fraud and theft matter were traced to accounts held by Hill Services (Pty) Ltd.
Eastern Cape NPA spokesperson Luxolo Tyali said the order was granted by the Eastern Cape High Court, East London Circuit Court, on July 31, 2026.
The court found that the money was linked to unlawful activity and ordered that it be forfeited to the State.
The matter started in September 2024 when Clive Phekun discovered that money had been transferred from his account without his knowledge or permission. Three payments were later made, resulting in a total loss of about R287 805.
