Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has denied reports that he sought to resign, calling the claims an attempt to "create discord" among Tehran's leadership.
Reports alleged Mr Pezeshkian threatened to resign 28 times and submitted a tentative resignation letter in May complaining his government had been sidelined.
The letter purportedly claimed his administration was excluded from national security and foreign policy decisions by military and hardline factions.
A cleric reportedly cited supreme leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as saying any future resignation from the president would be accepted.
