Snapchat parent Snap is to remove entirely AI-generated videos from its Spotlight feed, following similar moves from Microsoft’s LinkedIn, Google’s YouTube and newsletter platform Substack.
The social media group said it was aiming to emphasise “authentic creativity” over “low-quality, repetitive, AI-generated content”.
It said it content-ranking algorithm would reward “human-made content” over “wholly AI-generated” material created outside of Snapchat, even when the AI-generated content is accompanies by disclosures.
