Yung Filly’s legal troubles continue after the British rapper was allegedly caught with drugs while he was on bail facing rape charges in Western Australia.The YouTube star, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was allegedly caught by police with more than half an ounce of cannabis in Greenfields, about 70km south of Perth, on May 20 this year.Mr Barrientos was due to face the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with possession of a prohibited drug but did not appear in person and was represented by a lawyer.The court date was just days after a jury found the performer with millions of social media followers guilty of assaulting a fan after a Perth gig in September 2024.Yung Filly was accused of sexually assaulting, assaulting and choking a 20-year-old woman inside a room at the InterContinental Hotel.A jury acquitted him of three counts of rape and one count each of strangulation and assault but found he assaulted the young woman, including biting her face and breast that caused bruising and an open wound.The jury could not reach a majority of verdict on three other counts of rape, and it will be up to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to decide if it retries the rapper.A DPP spokesman told NewsWire the District Court of Western Australia would be advised of its position at Mr Barrientos’ next hearing on August 21 once it had given proper consideration to the matter.He will be sentenced in the District Court for two counts of assault at a later date.At a separate hearing in the Magistrates Court in September, the rapper will face a drug charge relating to the alleged possession of cannabis.Read related topics:Perth
