MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Raffy Tulfo has filed a bill seeking to prohibit courts, tribunals, and other entities from issuing temporary restraining orders (TROs) or injunctions against the issuance, implementation, and enforcement of wage orders.
In filing Senate Bill No. 2372 on Monday, Tulfo cited the suspension of the P85 increase in the daily minimum wage of private-sector workers in Metro Manila following the issuance of a TRO by the Pasig Regional Trial Court on July 30.
“The issuance of a Wage Order is a product of rigorous public hearings, economic studies, and tripartite consultations involving the government, the labor sector, and the employers,” Tulfo said in the bill’s explanatory note.
