A woman abducted from Ariko village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State has regained her freedom after spending about 180 days in captivity alongside her three surviving daughters following an escape from their abductors’ hideout.

The woman, whose identity was withheld, was reportedly kidnapped while pregnant along with her daughters, aged four, six and 12.

According to a statement issued on Monday by security analyst and former Kaduna governorship aide, Reuben Buhari, the woman and her daughters escaped from the camp on Saturday and embarked on a long trek through the bush despite being weak and exhausted.

Buhari said the woman gave birth while in captivity, but the newborn reportedly died about three weeks later.
