In an increasingly popular advertising play, brands are hijacking the term and making it literal — ditching Hollywood actors and putting their real-life fans front and center in the marketing spaces where celebs were once prized.
And it’s paying off, with marketers lauding the efforts as a beneficial long-term investment in brand distinction and reliability.
