Chelsea FC has agreed to sell defender Trevoh Chalobah to Italian Serie A club Como 1907 for a base fee of €30 million plus add-ons. The English international’s departure caps weeks of negotiations that saw Como’s initial bids range between €23 million and €28 million before the Italian side eventually met Chelsea’s asking price.

Chalobah was omitted from Chelsea’s 2026 preseason squad. Como, backed by Indonesian billionaire investors and counting former players Cesc Fàbregas and Thierry Henry among its minority ownership group, came calling with initial offers in the €23 million to €28 million range. Chelsea held firm. The buying club eventually agreed to the €30 million base fee, with additional performance-related add-ons that could push the total figure higher.
The deal was finalized in late July to early August 2026. For Chelsea, it represents a cash injection into a club that has been selling fringe players to fund new acquisitions. For Como, it is a statement signing as the club pursues mid-table stability in Serie A.
