Clive Mason/Getty ImagesAug. 3, 2026 11:45 am EDT Updated Chelsea have agreed a deal to sell centre-back Trevoh Chalobah to Serie A side Como for €36million (£30.8m; $41.4m).The deal for the England international, 27, will also include a sell-on clause.The Athletic reported on July 28 that Chelsea had held talks with Como — who qualified for the 2026-27 Champions League — over the sale of Chalobah, with the west London club seeking a package worth up to £35million ($47.1m).Chelsea have already strengthened their defence with the £52m acquisition of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace. The Athletic has previously reported that fellow centre-backs Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are also expected to leave, while Mamadou Sarr is being earmarked for a domestic loan and a decision is yet to be made on Aaron Anselmino’s future.Chalobah was called up to England’s World Cup squad this summer after Tino Livramento withdrew through injury on the eve of the group-stage opener against Croatia. His only appearance at the tournament came as a late substitute in the 6-4 win against France in the bronze medal match.The Chelsea academy graduate started 31 of their 38 Premier League fixtures last season, making 47 total appearances for the west London club. He scored three goals, including the opener in a 1-1 draw against eventual champions Arsenal in November.Chalobah signed a long-term contract with Chelsea in 2022, extending his terms until 2028 with the option of a further 12 months.He spent the first half of the 2024-25 season on loan with Crystal Palace, before returning to Chelsea in January and frequently appearing in the second half of the campaign.
