Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described the newly signed memorandum of understanding, or MoU, between Tehran and Washington as the “result of collective wisdom among members of the Supreme National Security Council,” or SNSC, stating: “We must strive to compel the enemy to remain committed to what it has signed.”
In a message posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday, August 2, Pezeshkian wrote:
“The memorandum of understanding that was signed was the result of collective wisdom among SNSC members, and all members are aligned on it. I believe this agreement will serve as the centre of gravity for our foreign relations in the future. We must strive to compel the enemy to abide by what it signed. The security of our country, the region, and our allies will be enhanced through this agreement.”
At the same time, Israel’s Channel 12 reported, citing informed sources, that regional countries are actively mediating to bring the US and Iran back to the terms of the memorandum signed by the two sides last month.
