The new Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has brought in an astonishing $927 million in global ticket sales, making it the second-biggest opening weekend ever.
Tom Holland's fourth outing as Marvel favourite Peter Parker / Spider-Man came out last week and has also set a second-best US record, with box office takings of $335m. The film, now Sony's highest-grossing debut in the studio's history, made $572 million from over 73,500 screens internationally, with China contributing $121 million alone, according to distributor Sony Pictures.
