Greek-French journalist and television presenter Nikos Aliagas will present a photography exhibition exploring everyday life in Greece at the historic Château de Waroux from September 4 to October. 4.
Titled “L’Esprit grec” (“The Greek Spirit,”) the exhibition features Aliagas’ high-contrast, black-and-white photographs, offering a view of Greece that goes beyond traditional tourist imagery and postcard landscapes.
Aliagas, who has pursued photography alongside his broadcast career, focuses on a human-centered approach in his work. Through images of faces, gestures, landscapes and quiet moments, the collection explores themes of memory, time and human presence, portraying ordinary people and everyday scenes rather than familiar stereotypes.
The venue, Château de Waroux, is a historic castle in the municipality of Ans, near Liège. Organizers say the historic setting aims to create a dialogue between contemporary art and cultural heritage.
“L’Esprit grec” will be open to the public Tuesday through Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Morning visits will also be available for organized groups by reservation.
