TVTV NewsThe One ShowBBC's The One Show will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this month with a range of special guests and surprise moments.07:50, 03 Aug 2026The Welsh star has fronted the BBC show since 2010.‌Alex Jones has been a staple on The One Show for 16 years, since she joined to host alongside Jason Manford and Chris Evans.‌Now, she remains the longest-running presenter on the programme as it's set to celebrate its 20th year on-air this month.‌To mark the milestone anniversary, BBC viewers will see The One Show celebrate with a week of special programmes featuring celebrity guests, memorable reunions, surprise moments and stories that have captivated viewers over the last two decades.Ahead of the celebrations, Alex touched on her time fronting the programme and recalled her first guest.‌When speaking about what she's most proud of when it comes to being part of the BBC show, the presenter confessed there were two things.She told the BBC: "I'm most proud of the fact that I'm still here because to have a job that you not only love but you're really proud to do is rare over the stretch of time that I've been here."It makes me a bit emotional because I'm so proud of the show. It has withstood so many changes in trends, changes in the way people watch TV or whatever, it still stands and stays relevant.‌"It's still really strong in the ratings, and I think it would be really missed if it wasn't there at 7pm."Alex's first celebrity guest on the BBC show was American actress Whoopi Goldberg, whom she described as 'very sweet'.‌However, when it comes to her dream guest, the presenter has royalty in mind.When asked who she'd like to see on the programme, Alex continued: "It's a really hard question because we've probably had those people that I loved as a child on already.Article continues below"Superficially, Jacob Elordi! It would also be amazing to have TRH The Prince and Princess of Wales on the show."I think that would be phenomenal. Our viewers would love that.
