The management of Lekki Port, promoters of Lekki Deep Seaport, welcomed the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), to the port on a familiarisation visit aimed at strengthening collaboration in securing Nigeria’s maritime gateway and combating illicit drug trafficking through the nation’s ports recently.

During the visit, Marwa toured the port facilities and engaged in strategic discussions with the Lekki Port management, focusing on their shared commitment to enhancing port security, facilitating legitimate trade and safeguarding Nigeria’s supply chains. The NDLEA, having been one of the first security agencies deployed to Lekki Port after the commencement of commercial operations, plays a critical role in ensuring that the port operates in line with global security standards.

In his remarks, Marwa commended Lekki Port for its growing contribution to Nigeria’s economy, noting that as maritime trade continues to expand, stronger partnerships, intelligence sharing and robust security measures will remain critical to safeguarding Nigeria’s ports and preserving the integrity of the nation’s supply chains.
