The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ipaja Assembly, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that its church building was destroyed by fire.
The Church on Sunday clarifed that only a minor fire spark occurred and was quickly brought under control without any damage to the structure or loss of life.
In a public notice issued by the Presbytery of the church, the leadership said the clarification became necessary following widespread reports alleging that the church had been engulfed by fire.
According to the statement dated 2 August 2026, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the church’s two-storey building.
“This afternoon, there was a fire spark in our two-storey church building. By the grace of God, the situation was immediately put under control,” the church stated.
