With the India Meteorological Department forecasting continued heavy rain across Dakshina Kannada district on Monday, Deputy Commissioner H.V. Darshan has declared a holiday for schools in the district on Monday.In a statement on Sunday, Mr. Darshan said anganwadis, government, aided and unaided primary and high schools, including residential schools, will remain closed on Monday in Mangaluru, Bantwal, Moodbidri, Mulky, and Ullal taluks.In Beltangady, Puttur, Sullia, and Kadaba taluks, anganwadis, all schools, pre-university colleges, ITIs, and diploma colleges will remain closed on Monday.Mr. Darshan said action would be initiated against institutions found operating in violation of the order.
