Thodupuzha-based Maharani Wedding Collections, a wedding textile destination in Kerala, has secured a world record by creating the world’s largest Saree Pookkalam. The record was achieved by creating a 2,000-square-foot Saree Pookkalam - a pookkalam made using sarees instead of the traditional floral arrangement - on the ground floor of Forum Mall during the Maharani Group’s Onam celebrations held on Sunday. The achievement has been recognized by the Universal Records Forum (URF).The world record certificate was presented to Riyas V.A., Chairman and Managing Director of Maharani Group, by Sunil Joseph, Chief Editor of the Universal Records Forum (URF) and a multiple Guinness World Record holder, during the event.Riyas said the world’s largest Saree Pookkalam was created to celebrate womanhood and encourage women to lead bold and courageous lives while playing a greater role in society.A total of 2,100 sarees in a vibrant range of colours, including silk and Kanchipuram silk sarees, were used by the group’s creative team to create the record-breaking pookkalam. The design was conceived by the Maharani team and executed by renowned artist Da Vinci Suresh along with the Maharani creative team. The initiative was organised to celebrate womanhood and highlight the strength and resilience of women.Maharani Wedding Collections, Thodupuzha, is known for its wide range of wedding collections, affordable pricing and customer-centric service.
