A university's decision to ban students from wearing bonnets, bedroom slippers and durags to lectures has been met with mixed reviews.
Earlier this week, IOL reported that students are also prohibited from wearing revealing clothing. Students are further urged to put their phones down during classes.
In a letter addressed to parents of incoming students, the American-based Tuskegee University said students should dress in business suits and suitable shoes as they would for meetings and other professional occasions.
Tuskegee President Dr Mark A Brown said the goal was not to restrict students but rather to prepare them for the workplace.
