CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Proving their mettle in realistic doctrine-based combat scenarios, women soldiers from the Headquarters Service Company (HSC) clinched the female division championship in the punishing 10th Agila Patrol Challenge on Saturday.
Maj. Ruben Gadut, 10th Infantry Division spokesperson, told the Inquirer in a phone interview on Sunday that the grueling warfighting competition ended Saturday at Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr in Mawab, Davao de Oro.
“The competition was designed to test the tactical proficiency, endurance, and operational readiness of infantry platoons,” he said.
He added that throughout the challenge, participating troops faced intense evaluations in river crossing, close-quarter battle, improvised explosive device identification, tactical combat casualty care, and a timed raid.
