Former President Barack Obama has unveiled his 2026 summer reading list, offering readers 11 titles across fiction and nonfiction while inviting them to enjoy the books at the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.
Barack Obama Invites Readers to the Obama Presidential Center Earlier this week, The Obama Foundation announced the reading list in a post on X, calling on book lovers to explore Obama’s latest recommendations and share which title they plan to read first.
In an accompanying video, Obama reflected on the vision behind the Obama Presidential Center, saying its designers imagined people spending time on the campus with a good book.
"Hello, readers," Obama said.
"When we were designing the Obama Presidential Center, we dreamed about people hanging out on our campus with a great book." He invited readers to visit the center, explore the selections through the Chicago Public Library and find a comfortable place to start reading.
