Minister for Environment and Climate Change V.K. Rajeev disbursed welfare assistance to the tune of ₹2.37 crore to 241 beneficiaries here on Saturday.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajeev said the officials had been instructed to process the applications for medical and educational assistances at the earliest. A special camp would soon be organised for helping the physically challenged for giving them identity cards and other assistances.While the villages that did not have proper bus connectivity would be given bus service immediately, bad roads would be re-laid within the next few months, the Minister said.Along with Minister for Minorities Welfare A.M. Shahjahan, Mr. Rajeev disbursed assistances worth ₹11.74 lakh to 229 beneficiaries.Mr. Shahjahan said that over 5,000 applicants had been selected for pilgrimage to Jerusalem and Mecca, while 8,000 others had been wait-listed.
