New Delhi: The Delhi government on Tuesday approved one of its key poll promises to provide financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month to eligible women. The cabinet cleared the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, with registration for the scheme set to begin on August 1. The government has earmarked ₹5,110 crore for the 2026-27 financial year, targeting 17 lakh beneficiaries."We have approved the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, a scheme designed to empower the sisters of Delhi by providing them with financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month. The online portal for this scheme will be launched on August 1," Delhi CM Rekha Gupta told reporters after the cabinet meeting.The scheme will cover women in the 18-60 age group whose annual family income does not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
