The annual 10-day event of Sri Krishna Yajur Vedam recitation coinciding with the “Aadi Pooram” festival will be held at Thiruvaiyaru from August 5.According to the organiser, M. Ananthanarayanan of Chennai, the ‘vedaparayanam’ will be led by Muthu Srowthigal and Sankara Sastrigal of Chennai, at Sri Dharmasamvarthini Sametha Sri Panchanatheeswarar temple, Thiruvaiyaru, from 8 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and between 7.30 p.m. and 9 p.m. The recitation will be performed by the pandits at Muthu Srowthigal’s house at Bavaswamy Agraharam, Thiruvaiyaru, between 3 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.On the “Aadi Pooram” day – August 14, the vedic scholars will be honoured at the Bavaswamy Agraharam house around 4 p.m., Mr. Ananthanarayanan said.
