AMD is raising Radeon GPU prices by at least 10 percent, days after Nvidia did the same

AMD has informed its add-in board partners that the price of GPU and memory kits will rise by at least 10 percent starting in August, according to supply chain source ChannelGate on Weibo, as first reported by VideoCardz. The increase follows Nvidia’s own price hikes on GeForce RTX graphics cards, meaning both major GPU makers are now passing rising memory costs directly to consumers.

The kit price covers the bundled GPU die and its onboard video memory before the package ships to partners like Asus, Sapphire, and XFX for assembly into a finished graphics card. A 10 percent increase at the kit level does not necessarily translate to a 10 percent jump at retail, since the kit is only one component of the final product, but it will push street prices higher at a time when they are already well above their original asking prices.

AMD reportedly delayed the increase from July to August because of weak demand and existing channel inventory. The company appears to have waited to see what Nvidia would do first, and Nvidia has already raised GeForce kit prices for its own board partners multiple times this year.
