Russian attack damages Lithuanian Embassy, residential buildings, and school in Kyiv; Zelensky urges partners to strengthen air defenses

On Friday night, Russian forces fired 35 missiles at Ukraine—27 of which were ballistic—as well as 185 attack drones of various types.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“Last night, the Russians launched 35 missiles at Ukraine, 27 of which were ballistic, as well as 185 attack drones of various types. The main target was Kyiv. But they also struck the Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions,” Zelensky wrote.

According to the President, efforts to address the aftermath of the Russian strike have been underway in Kyiv and the surrounding region since last night. Seven districts in the capital were affected, with 18 residential buildings, a school, the Lithuanian Embassy building, and infrastructure facilities damaged.

Zelensky also noted that only one ballistic missile was shot down last night due to a shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems.
