It will be difficult to fill the vacuum created in the first half of 2025 in construction activity, despite the significant increase in new permits since then and up to April.
Last year’s collapse of new permits, due to the legislative gap caused by the cabinet’s decision to abolish construction bonuses, is set to bring about a decline in new housing production, which will start to show from this fall onward.
That will happen precisely because the permits for the new buildings that would be erected today were not issued when they should have been, due to the insecurity caused in the market, and the increase since then has not managed to compensate for these losses.
