MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested an alleged online scammer who reportedly stole another person’s identity to dupe victims of more than P470,000.
The female suspect, who allegedly used an individual’s photos to create fake accounts on various social media platforms, was nabbed in an entrapment operation in Santa Maria, Bulacan, on July 24, the NBI said in a press release on Friday.

A search warrant allowed the bureau to examine the suspect’s computer data, as initial investigations pointed to the fake online profiles being registered under the same name, email address, and phone number of the alleged scammer.
