The deal is expected to be finalized by late July 2026, with Newcastle activating the 23-year-old’s release clause at Braga. Horníček, born on July 13, 2002, is a Czech Republic international and represents a deliberate effort to overhaul Newcastle’s goalkeeping department during the summer window. Personal terms haven’t been publicly disclosed. The signing comes during what looks like a transitional period for the club, with speculation swirling about the future of manager Eddie Howe and broader roster changes underway.
The crypto sponsorship angle
