An official French government delegation visited the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kyiv on July 17 to review a joint project supporting the rehabilitation of Ukrainian military personnel and civilians wounded in Russia’s war. The delegation was headed by Muriel Lacoue-Labarthe, Special Envoy of the President of the French Republic for Ukraine’s Recovery and Reconstruction. It also included representatives of France’s Ministry for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, the French Embassy in Ukraine and the Expertise France Health Program team in Ukraine.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. During the visit, the delegation was presented with the results of a joint project aimed at equipping Ukrainian healthcare facilities, including the installation and operation of two Dessintey neurorehabilitation devices at ReabiCentre. Representatives of the center said the devices are used to rehabilitate patients with upper- and lower-limb amputations, helping them restore mobility and adapt to everyday life after severe injuries. ReabiCentre began operating in December 2024 at the initiative of philanthropist Oles Dovhyi. It was established at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics in response to the growing need for comprehensive rehabilitation services for Ukrainians seriously wounded in the war. The modern facility covers more than 500 square meters and is equipped to diagnose and rehabilitate patients with severe, multiple injuries to the limbs. The center has the capacity to provide treatment to more than 1,000 military personnel each year.
