SaharaReporters gathered that after his arrest last week Saturday, he was subsequently transferred to the Intelligence Response Team office in Wuzape, Abuja.
The Accord Party candidate for the Ijesa South Federal Constituency in the forthcoming election, Alaba Popoola, popularly known as Alabama, has been transferred to Abuja by the Nigerian police days after his arrest, with the reasons for his detention and any formal charges against him still unclear.
SaharaReporters gathered that after his arrest last week Saturday, he was subsequently transferred to the Intelligence Response Team office in Wuzape, Abuja.
Sources familiar with the development told SaharaReporters that Popoola has yet to be arraigned before any court since his arrest.
"The police transferred him to Abuja but the charges against him are unclear as he is yet to be charged to court since the time of his arrest," the source told SaharaReporters.
