Image: Elias Paakkanen / YleYle News8:19A storm front arriving from the west on Friday has prompted the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) to issue thunderstorm warnings across Finland over the course of the day.The FMI has issued warnings for 'dangerous' and 'potentially dangerous' severe thunderstorms across every part of the country on Friday. It also noted that heavy rain is expected in some areas.According to Yle meteorologist Elias Paakkanen, thunderstorms will strike in the west in the afternoon, while it will be warm and sunny in the east. The stormy front will move eastward later in the afternoon, when thunderstorms and rainy conditions are expected to intensify.The thunder and rain will head further eastward by Saturday, when sunny conditions are expected across most of Finland. However, there are chances of local rain and lighting along the eastern border and in central parts of the country.Saturday's temperatures are expected to range between 20-25 degrees, cooler in northern parts of Lapland.
