Durban City head coach Khalil Ben Youssef is confident his refined tactical approach can propel the club to another top-eight finish as they prepare to launch their second Betway Premiership campaign.
Following an impressive debut season in the top flight, the KwaZulu-Natal outfit are focused on evolution rather than a complete overhaul. Ben Youssef believes the solid foundation established by former coaches Gavin Hunt and Pitso Dladla has allowed him to introduce a more expansive philosophy without compromising the team's defensive core.
"I think, defensively, the team was already performing well, so we wanted to keep that defensive organisation and everything they were doing last season," Ben Youssef said.
"We have only tried to make a few adjustments and add more ideas in attack. We want the team to keep the ball more, play a more offensive style, and improve how we build attacks, progress through the middle, and organise ourselves in possession."
