With Advocate Andrea Johnson's testimony behind us, the spotlight now turns to the next key witness in the Madlanga Commission, businessman Suliman Carrim. What revelations await as we delve deeper into the corruption scandals?

Now that former Investigating Directorate Against Corruption head Advocate Andrea Johnson has come and faced her music and eaten her words in the Madlanga Commission, we can now all breathe a national sigh of relief and move on to the next “big fish” witness.

She tried to evade some of the hard questions, but at least she gave the commission something to work with. At some stages I felt the TV stations should have attached a PG rating to the live evidence transmission, especially when things like “hi gorgeous”, "miss you" and such text messages were brought up. It was embarrassing at times, and the less said about her investigations and arrest warrants testimony and the shenanigans it suggests she was involved in, the better. Let’s look ahead to the next witness.

I can’t wait for North West ANC leader-cum-businessman Suliman Carrim to recover enough to testify before the commission. However, I can’t exactly invite you all, fellow South Africans, to hold your breath together with me. We’ll just have to watch the space, and keep our eyes peeled when out and about at shopping malls, etc.
