Ukraine's relevant ministries, together with regional military administrations, will immediately inspect all civil protection shelters to ensure they are properly maintained and fully accessible to the public.
According to Ukrinform, Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi announced the decision on Telegram.
"Relevant ministries and services, together with regional military administrations, including the Kyiv City Military Administration, and local self-government bodies within their areas of responsibility, will immediately inspect all civil protection shelters to ensure they are properly maintained and that citizens have unrestricted access to them. Every shelter – without exception. All responsible officials have received the appropriate instructions," Koretskyi wrote.
The Prime Minister stressed that access to shelters must be ensured even when a threat has already been identified but an air raid alert has not yet been issued. Given the constant threat of ballistic missile attacks, regional and city military administrations must act more proactively based on the actual risk to people's safety.
"In the fifth year of the full-scale war, there must be no problems with access to shelters in Ukrainian cities. This is unacceptable. People must always be able to reach shelters in advance and without obstruction, especially when there is a ballistic missile threat. This is the personal responsibility of every official," he added.
