More than 56,000 people took shelter at Kyiv metro stations during the latest Russian attack on the night of 29-30 July. The metro has dismissed claims made by users on social media that people were being barred from entering certain stations.

Details: Kyiv Metro said that once the air-raid warning was issued, all stations were open and operating as shelters.

They suggested that reports of restricted access may have arisen from requests for staff to move from service premises onto the platforms. Access to such premises and passageways is restricted for safety reasons.
