The wave of forced business closures (polombing) centered on mandatory hijab enforcement continues across multiple Iranian cities. A commercial establishment in Semnan Province was sealed by authorities for what police described as “publishing content contrary to Islamic hijab and public decency.” Concurrently, reports have emerged detailing the closure of additional commercial venues in Tehran and Zanjan.
According to IRIB, Hossein Kianmehr, Chief of the Public Intelligence and Security Police for Semnan Province, announced that a local business had been identified and sealed following a review of its social media activity.
The police official cited the publication of posts involving “mockery of Islamic hijab,” “insults,” and “damage to public decency,” along with the unauthorized use of government agency names, as grounds for the crackdown.
Kianmehr claimed that, following the preparation of a case file and coordination with judicial authorities, the account administrator was summoned to police headquarters, the published content was removed or amended, and a written pledge was obtained. The legal case has been forwarded to the judiciary for further processing.
Similar reports continue to surface in other regions. Lemond Cafe in Zanjan was sealed for a second time due to alleged “non-compliance with hijab rules.”
