Eleven persons sustained burns in a fire causing a gas cylinder blast at Chinnaammankudi near Thiruvonam in Thanjavur district on Wednesday night.According to sources, Murugaiyan, a farmer, noticed fire on the thatched roof of his house pasts midnight. He along with his wife, Selvi, and Abhinaya, 15, raised alarm and neighbours joined them in putting off the flame. In the meantime, the LPG cylinder kept under the thatched burst causing burns on the three and Kasinathan, Rajasekar, Palanivel, Vembaiyan, Kalaiyarasi, Bhuvanesh, Selvaraj and Kaliyammal, who came to the rescue of Murugaiyan’s family.
