Steven Kitshoff discussed the changing culture of rugby, comparing the social traditions of his early playing days with the highly professional routines followed by players today.
There was a time when recovering after a big rugby game meant finding a comfortable chair, ordering a few drinks and arguing about the match until someone’s voice disappeared.
According to former DHL Stormers captain Steven Kitshoff, those days are looking very different.
Speaking about how professional rugby has evolved, Kitshoff reflected on the changing lifestyle of players, comparing the culture when he started playing to the highly structured routines athletes follow today.
"When I started playing rugby, it was Wednesday beers with the boys. It was dinners out and getting a bit sloshed after a big game, celebrating," he said.
