The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an internal investigation into a police prosecutor, Inspector Michael Okolie, over allegations that he deliberately failed to appear in court in a bid to frustrate the prosecution of an attempted murder and assault case involving Mrs. Temitope Adelu-Davis and Mr. Ashikem Usu Noah, whose legal team is led by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Femi Falana.
Okolie, a legal officer attached to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, was reportedly detained at the facility on July 10, 2026, as part of disciplinary proceedings over his conduct in Charge No. A/44/2026: Commissioner of Police v. Temitope Adelu-Davis & Anor.
The development followed allegations that the police prosecutor intentionally stayed away from court on the scheduled trial date in order to allow the case to suffer dismissal or be struck out for lack of diligent prosecution.
According to findings from an internal police investigation obtained by SaharaReporters, Okolie initially claimed that he was absent from court on June 1, 2026, because he was handling another matter before the Federal High Court in Lagos.
