At least one person was killed in Kyiv in the early hours of Thursday as Russian forces launched another missile attack on the Ukrainian capital, with falling debris sparking fires across several districts. The attack triggered fires in the Sviatoshynskyi and Obolonskyi districts as emergency crews responded across the capital. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said falling debris caused a fire at a non-residential site in the Sviatoshynskyi district. A separate fire was reported at a non-residential property in Obolon. Klitschko also reported a blaze at a garage cooperative in Sviatoshynskyi district. Russian missiles target multiple Ukrainian cities Ukraine’s Air Force had earlier warned that Russian missiles were heading toward Kyiv, Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih, urging residents to remain in shelters as the attack unfolded. The type and number of missiles used in the overnight assault were not immediately clear. Russia has repeatedly targeted Kyiv with ballistic and cruise missiles, placing civilians and critical infrastructure under sustained threat. The July 30 attack was continuing when authorities confirmed the first fatality, and officials urged residents to remain in shelters until the all-clear.
