A Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv overnight killed one person and injured seven others, sparking fires and causing widespread damage across several districts of the Ukrainian capital.

The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) and Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported the this, as cited by Ukrinform.

According to the KCMA, the first reported consequences of the attack were in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where a multi-story residential building was damaged.

In the Dniprovskyi district, a shopping center and several vehicles caught fire, while emergency services were dispatched to the affected sites. Smoke was also reported near another shopping mall, and falling debris ignited a fire in a dormitory.

A private house in the Sviatoshynskyi district was initially reported to be on fire. Authorities later clarified that although the house had been hit, the fire was not confirmed.
