Florida health officials released new guidance discouraging the use of psychiatric medications for children with anxiety, depression, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and behavioral disorders.

A twice-daily dose of MapLight Therapeutics' investigational oral drug that combines the M1/M4 muscarinic agonist betovumeline and the anticholinergic fesoterodine (Toviaz) improved schizophrenia symptoms in a phase II trial of adults experiencing an acute exacerbation, the company said.
