Labour Laws Enforcement (LLE) march in Overport.
Labour Laws Enforcement (LLE) has pledged to continue its compliance and enforcement marches across Durban following last week's operation in Overport.
Last week, LLE accompanied by police, conducted door-to-door visits to several businesses in Overport, including Romans Pizza, Shell Garage, Star Meats, Frango's Peri-Peri, Baba's, KZN Fasteners and Sana Linen, among others, to inspect compliance with labour laws and identify undocumented workers.
The operation sparked mixed reactions.
Some said it was necessary to protect local jobs but critics have accused LLE of targeting Muslim-owned businesses and acting beyond its legal mandate.
