Taaliah Tasmia Aberdeen, a final-year Bachelor of Education student at UKZN, has been selected to attend the 14th University Scholars Leadership Symposium 2026, one of the world's leading leadership development platforms for emerging changemakers in Thailand.
Aberdeen's selection recognises her demonstrated leadership, commitment to community service, and potential to contribute meaningfully towards advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The symposium, organised by Humanitarian Affairs Asia, will take place in August at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 21-year-old will join delegates from more than 47 countries in an immersive programme designed to develop ethical, globally-minded leaders.
